My house was broken into over the weekend and my new AR-15 was stolen. I still have the blue case that it came in from the factory with the 5 digit number on the sticker. The police department is telling me that the number isnt the complete serial number. Is this true? How many digits does Rock River use for there serial numbers?

Mine has 2 letters and 6 numbers. Did you buy it from a FFL? If so, you should be able to get the serial number from him.

Find someone on here who has the same brand as yours and see if they'll check the box number against the gun number and see if it matches.

If it was a factory Gun Purchased Recently it will have two Alphabetical letters fallowed by six number, or at least the hundred or so I have sold over the last year did.
Now early Rock Rivers did have a 5 Digit serial. If you looking at the end of the case on the white label there should be a block of options with everything your gun had checked as a build sheet. In the upper right hand corner of the label there is a line ___________ that should have a hand written number that should be you serial number.
Check with the Original Dealer you procured it from and see if they can pull there records and get it for you.

Misfortune never comes alone!!! Sorry to hear about that. These days the good people have become bad, bad ones become worse and the lawless guys have increased in number. Sometimes I think I can’t stand it any more. What happen to the world? Everyone seems to be crazy! Well, make sure your door is firmly locked before you leave and put the valuable stuff aside – the only way to protect yourself. Tragic of our society!
