lookin at buying a new shotgun. has anyone heard of any good reviews or own an 887? debating wether or not to go with the benelli or remington

Well, your post is in the open section, but if you had posted it in the migratory birds or gun section you'd probably get an ear full.

Between the two you've listed, I'd go with Benelli. I know nothing of Remington's 887, but I know several people with the Benelli.

Remington has a long way to go to restore my confidence. I've just heard of to many problems.

Sadly I have heard nothing positive about the 887 as of yet. It seems Remington is going backwards, I would get either the Nova or get an 870.

The 887 is a poor design and like many current guns solves a problem that does not exist.

My Main gripe with the Remington 887 is not the unorthadox polymer coating all over the gun, but hte location of the pump release it sit ahead of the trigger guard. Not normally a problme with a tactical furniture that stops at the receiver, but this has field furnature which wraps around the trigger gaurd so you wind up smashing your finger alot.

Go with a older 870 Wingmaster or the Nova.

My brother bought an 887 last year for duck season. Used it all season long with no problems, he loves it so far.

ive looked at the super nova and they advertise that it dramatically reduces the recoil. i shoot 3.5" shells and i know after a few boxes it takes a toll you. is it worth the extra money for a super nova or just go with a nova?

Save your precious time and get a Browning BPS. Not much difference in price, can shoot 3 1/2, very dependable, feels good, comes in camo. Should last you a lifetime.

+1... Or the Stoeger P-350 which is the same gun as the Nova in slightly different furnature.

The comfortech stock is just a way to get your money. No difference, I've shot both the nova and supernova, don't waste your money. If you feel like you need more recoil reduction then just get a limbsaver.
