My FIL wants an AR and said that he had heard that there is a manufacturer here in Texas that produces a quality AR.
Of course he couldn't remember the name so here I am. I would think there are more than one but any help would be appreciated.

STI and Larue are the only onesI know of both are top notch companies, STI is more competition/race guns, Larue is More Door Kicker actually going to be used for defense weapon.

I briefly looked at larue's website. Didn't initially see any complete guns. Looked like parts. I can get the parts and put together a nice weapon, I am just surprised to not see any assembled rifles for sale.

High Standard out of Houston builds a quality rifle. They do not do a huge number for retail sales therefore are not really well known.

Larue Tactical (as already been suggested) is #1 in this state.
I dream of having an OBR/Predatar!
Their CS is unmatched aswell.

I got a STI on T&E and it runs like a champ
absolute tack driver and feeds everything
I got it to run in 3 gun but I am building up an 18" with a Noveske barrel and may turn the STI into a defensive gun

killed lots of critters with my STI AR since i got it.
really nice trigger and balance

yeah, I am seriously considering abandoning the other build since the STI is so nice..
I have a Wilson Combat 6.8 with a S&B 1.5-6 for hunting.. so, I have that side of the AR usage covered well!

Adraper, we are phone & online orders only. We do have dealers allover if you want to check out one of our OBR's before you purchase. The closest one to Lufkin is going to be J & J Firearms in Longview. I would call to see what they have in stock before you go though.
