Need some help here I'm doing a European mount for a friend except before I got it he had it buried in sawdust trying to clean it (never heard of this before). Anyway I've done several european mounts by boiling them, cleaning them with a pressure washer, degreasing them, using hygrogen proxide with basic white to bleach the skull white without any issues. Anyway this one stinks and I can't get rid of the smell. Currentl I have it in a plastic bag with baking soda to see if this will help.

Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks,

Macerate or simmer as usual. The smell will come out after degreasing and the peroxide soak.

just boil it til it's done or give it back to him and tell him "It stinks too much for ME to mess with..."

What is:
Macerate?

I've always just done the peroxide and basic white covering the skull in a gravy paste in 2 applications and this has done the trick. Do I need to soak the skull in peroxide as an additional step?

Thanks,

Stick it in a 5 gallon bucket of clean water and change the water out daily or every day or so with clean water. It is going to smell still while doing this. In a short while the meat will fall off of the bone. You can then power wash it clean or boil clean and then finish it in your prefered method.
