i want to take the wife somwhere nice for a weekend get away. im going to be out of town for about 5 months so it needs to be special. i am thinking about somwhere nice around lake travis but am wanting other opinions. any ideas?

Are you talking camping here or the Royal Hilton? I like Lake Murray OK, Blue River OK for camping. I'm not a Royal Hilton kind of guy.

Lost Maples State park down close to Leaky is a nice, if wanting to stay in Texas

Im thinking something a little higher end. kinda a wine and dine type of place....camping just dosent seem to work for this situation

Cotton Gin cabins in Fredricksburg are super nice. Lots to do around that area too.

Back 40 Bed and breakfast in Fredricksburg. Beautiful place, oxbow lake full of nice sized bass and right outside of downtown Fredricksburg. My wife and I had a great weekend there!

I used to have a lease in Graham and I took the wife here a couple of years ago for our anniversary and she loved it. I had reservations and had a half dozen roses waiting on the table for her. Possibily the best steak I have ever had.

Had a very nice weekend at Raye Carrington's on the Llano. Great spot fpr a B&B.
