I was just curious as to how many people eat or donate the meat vs. leaving them where they lay.

I normally just take the backstraps if it's cold out. This time of year, they get hauled to the canyon...

I (or we) eat most of the ones we kill, I have hauled off several 250lb + boars. They DO stink and they are hard to clean so we try to shoot pigs under 100 lbs.

Eat it, feed it to the dogs, give it to somebody, or leave it lay. There's no place around me that will accept a feral hog donation. I even offered to process it myself. I tried churches, food banks, homeless shelter, women's shelter, none of them want it.

Eat ever one, even the ones that stink. Hell I never seen one that smelled good no matter how big it was.

Eat it! Nothing like having a freezer full of meat. I have had excellent tasting hogs of all sizes, but anything <100lbs is usually fantastic.

dont touch em this time of year, they are covered with fleas andd ticks. I am overrun with them and kill em almost every day. they become coyote/buzzard food.

Invest in a propane torch. Once you skin a hairless hog it is hard to go back, and your knives stay sharp sooo much longer.

We butcher every one of em up and give them away...... did over 5,000lbs last year....... looking to tripple that....... did a BBQ for 500 soldiers and families........ they could not get enough.......

Always a place for meat to go....... always........ might need to be a little inventive......

Only if there is no wind, but even then it is better than picking hair off your meat. My wife loves wild game, but she likes the illusion that it comes packed in cellophane or butcher paper.

Coyotes need to eat too up

Eat a few of the small ones, but leave most of them.

Piglets and sows get cleaned and if anything we take the shank and hindquarters. Boars usually get left as a sacrifice to the other wild animals.

Soak, marinate, grill and enjoy.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I eat most of them or try and give them away to friends. I'm only on 200 acres and the carcasses start piling up after awhile. Not to mention all the buzzards. I need to dig a big trench and maybe bury them.

IMHO Hogs up to the VERY large ones are great eating. I try to keep a couple in the freezer at a time and if over that then I pay the $35-45 to processor for food bank donation. Unlike Deer and some other game animals I don't have same problem with people discarding. If you shoot a bunch, then it would get expensive at $35-45 each and they are a pest, but if you just shoot a couple more than you can personally use a year, then please consider donating.

We've been at war with the hogs for the last two years, and this year the neighbor has been setting out several traps and selling the one's he catches.

We aren't out there all the time so we still shoot on sight, and keep some if we have an order for one.

Last summer we ran out of people to give them to, and went and asked the landowner if he knew anyone that wanted the hogs, and that we had plenty and didn't have anyone to give them to and how did he feel about it if we left them lay knowing he hated hogs.

He told us to just make sure we had enough ammunition and shoot everyone we saw.

That's our rule on the lease is shoot on sight and what you do with it is up to you.

We are making some headway and the hogs are still there but not as thick as they were, but we've resigned to the fact we won't put a hurt on them that bad.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I donate every single hog I shoot...to underpriveleged coyotes and wayward vultures. God bless them...every one.
