Today I stopped by a gun store that is known for carrying higher quality guns.

Well, the owner and i started talking. Believe me when I say this guy is a big time critic. I was explaining how my wife (with good intentions) bought a Hi-Point 45ACP for me as a gift. I hated it and I still do. But what he said shocked me. He told me that the Hi-Point Carbine (9mm, 40cal &45ACP) is actually a damn fine weapon but the Hi-Point pistols are crap.

I agree with the pistol comment but can anyone back up his statement about the 9mm?

I can tell you that the Hi-Point Carbines do sell pretty quick on the used market. Could be that they are priced right or it could be that they are a pretty good little gun. Personly I have no use for anything with the Hi-Point name on it.

I'm with you. But daggum, these things were handed out to policemen all across the country. And it is right with my pocket book.

The carbines are good guns. I've had one for 10 years and they are a lot of fun to shoot. Change out the stock to the ATI version and if feels like a totally different gun. I've got a cheap bsa red dot on mine and it's pretty accurate. It's no H&K or Beretta, but for the money and fun, you can't beat em.

I used to have a 9mm carbine. Wish i still had it. Believe it or not, 3" groups at 90 yds with OPEN ghost ring sights is definantly worth the $200 new i paid for it..I have a pistol also, it shoots everytime and never jams, but not the most accurate by all means

I have owned both the .40 and the 9mm. Very accurate and both ran %100. With that said I would not trust my life on it. Good plinkers or camp guns for the money.
