My daughter saw something in the driveway a few nights ago. Upon questioning her, it sounded like a wolverine. We went to the internet and looked at badgers and wolverines and she was very sure it was a wolverine. Anyone ever hear of these in Texas? We live in Central Texas. What else could it have been? Defintely not a coon or possum.
thanks,

It was badger best case, no Wolverines in Texas.

Not a fox. We have them all over. She knows what most wild animials in these parts are. It was something that is not on our radar everyday.

Probably a big coon, no Wolverines this far south plus they are not native to Texas.

Badgers have tails.

OP's description sounds like a badger.

If it was a wolverine, I'd say he's lost!

Badger shouldn't be in the Bastrop/Gonzales area, but maybe a porcupine. Been receiving quite a few calls on them recently from that area to Oakhill.

How old is your daughter and did she get a good look at the animal?

Didn't think about Porcupine. Sounds like that is probably it.
