Be interesting to see how these performs. I have the old model and haven't had one problem with it. I know others on this forum have had hell but mine has been great.

There was a post about this on here a while ago. Consensus is that based on the track record of the m2000 - stay away.

Don't know, I've shot the OU and it worked just fine, I own a 2000 as well without any issues at all. I don't think Stoeger is a bad brand, they just aren't consistent. Either you got a good one or a bad one. Their defanetly an option for us po folk

Extremas do too bolt

I heard that was Benelli's original intent when they designed the M2

You are one of the lucky ones and that's awesome for you. From the people I know that have one, had problems, many of them had them worked out by sending them back in and are now happy with them.

As for the Stoeger O/Us....my buddy had one...I thought it was nice and I shot it a few times with no problems. He didnt like it and ended up selling it. I think it just never felt right ot him.

I have the 2000 and have had zero problems I like it more than my 1100 for sure. I also have a stoeger O/U, it is rough but it shoots and I don't worry about banging it around. I would by Stoeger again in a heartbeat.

I bought the 2000 3 years ago and have put it through the ringer. dropped it in water many times, packed the action with mud, banged it around. Only once has it let me down and that was totally my fault when reassembling it after cleaning. Its the best gun I have owned. I'll be buying the 3500!

I have two friends with the 2000 and one of them will cycle everything you throw at it, and the other ALWAYS jams onthe 3rd shot, if not one of the previous two shots. I really want to give the 3500 a chance since it's the only semi that's really in my price range, but I'm going to wait until some more reviews come out.

I'm glad to see some guys have had no problems with the M2000.

Now...I've been shooting shotguns and duck hunting for a minute now and have come up with a few opinions that I think will serve others well. I'm a financial planner so by nature I'm frugal and look for the best value where I can. It's hard to drop 1200-1500 on a shotgun for me but but based on what is currently out there you will not find a great duck gun that will hold up to the hell of duck hunting that is cheapo gun (unless we look at pumps). I've seen so many people want a Benelli, Browning, Beretta to settle for a cheapo gun only to regreat it and end up buying what they wanted to get in the first place. So I say this...get the shot gun you really want...it may be more but it will have a better overall value in the long run.

There are some decent "get ya by" guns on the market so don't get me wrong but if waterfowling is your main thing...like it is mine then you owe it to yourself to work with good tools.

Another lucky one here.. I bought a brand new M2000 that was the display model at Academy. Got a discount on it as it was banged up a bit. This gun has never once failed to fire, failed to load, failed to shoot straight, or anything else that I've asked it to do.

For the money, I can't imagine NOT buying one. My only complaint is that I wish there were rifled slug barrels available for it, and I wish it came from the factory with an integral scope rail like the new Magnum 3500 does.. That would be tops.
