Has anyone been hunting there lately? Anyone having any luck, or just hearing birds? I was thinking about coming back one more weekend to hunt, but it's a long drive and I don't want to be wasting my time.

Going Saturday will let you know. Everyone has said it is pretty quiet this year.

Well nothing seen or heard. The day was cut short because of other commitments. We saw a horseback rider, and two men surveying. It was funny we were in out spot, decoys out just sitting calling a little and waiting. Two surveyors walk up to this survey stake about 10 ft in front of my son. He waits two or three minutes then he says "How you all doing" I thought they were going to jump out of their skins. At least our Camoflague and being still must have been working for humans. I may try to get one more in in other areas.

Thanks for the tips.

Ed, I tried to PM you last week, but it wouldn't go through for some reason. Have you tried any of the areas I mentioned? There just aren't that many birds this year at LBJ. I heard nothing this year where I heard birds last year. Maybe things will improve next season. I still may give it a try this weekend. I was just hoping for a little encouraging news.

Because of our time limits we basically went where we knew the area. Walked through 48 later but no sign of any kind. Of course saw birds on private property across the roads etc as we always do. No other hunters so I would give it a try.

Our game cams have been showing a few birds but virtually no gobbling this year, strange,of course it has been very windy but even on still mornings I haven't heard a single gobble.

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
Don't text and drive.

Not going to tell you where I hunted in the LBJ but I was on birds every day I hunted, unfortunately due to the weather and the fact that the toms were with hens we could not close the deal this season. IMHO it was the WORST season me and my buddies had in 16 years here in Texas.....
