We are looking for a trailer we can put on our lease. Fema trailers are a good buy but are not self contained which may or may not be a big problem which is why I am posting.

Our lease will have electricity but possible no water.

Fema trailers are set up more with normal household appliances which with having electricity this would be no problem. I am wondering how I might be able to deal with the water and wastes? I don't know if I can dig and put in a 55 drum septic tank. I guess I could rig up a portable waste tank if I can not. But do the Fema trailers separate the waste for the gray water? And for water supply what would be a best method to obtain this cheaply?

Any personal experience is appreciated. Thanks

They work great but do not separate gray and black, dig a hole and make u a septic then install your own water pump easy to wire into the existing converter, and add drains to drain water pm oulufinn here on forum he did a great job with his!

Yeah but he told me only the bigger ones were left. And if a smaller one was still left he might claim it.

Don't separate the gray out? I would think you would want to let that run out on top of the ground so you would not fill the waste tank as fast.

you can either dig a small septic cheap or you can get the tanks to mount on the FEMA trailer. We dug a septic pit and piped to it. The FEMA trailer was a great buy

He told you wrong. There are two 32' ones left.

We just placed a 32x11 construction trailer on our place. It is NOT self contained. It has a full kitchen and bath, complete with a shower.

We ran PVC about 60' from the trailer for the gray water. For the septic, I ran about 80' of 3" PVC and dug a hole about 3'x 4' and about 2 feet deep. Put some lime in and around it and I foresee no problems for quite a while...between the lime, the bugs and natural deteriation, I don't think 4 guys can fill that hole up in a few years.

For water, we bought a 1100 gallon holding tank....The reason we went with 1100 gallons is that is the minimal amount a guy in Freer will deliver...we will see as the year progresses if 1100 is too much or too little. As long as we can keep the algae from appearing, I think it will be fine. It's a solid black container and I put about 8 ounces of Clorox in the 1100 gallons to help fight algae growth, so fingers crossed.

and then installed a 45 psi pump. We do not have electricity and are dependant on generators. This setup works great for us...LOTS of water pressure...HOT water in a matter of minutes...and no holding tanks to clean out....

Another thing we did was remove the electric range that was in the trailer. It ran off 220 and would draw more than our generators could provide with the AC running. I bought a propane stove off the net somewhere and framed it in...Not quite finished with it yet...just have to finish the framing then add some butcher board laminate to cover the frame work. This thing works like a champ so far...You can see the water tank pump in the stoarge area under the stove...

for clean water you can use a 275 gallon water tote and fill it with water. Run a hose from the water tote to the hook up on the rv. If you dont waste the water, it will last a pretty decent amount of time
