Is it too late to start protein feeding in Brown county. Considering putting in feeders at all locations that already have corn year round.

Simple answer: you have to start feeding at some point.
A little more detail to the still very simple answer not necessarily directed towards you but anyone who has never done supplemental feeding:
Also keep in mind that because you start feeding now (or if you started 3 months ago) that it is not a magic bullet, but nutrition wise the deer will begin reaping the benefits now, but true gains come after a multi-year period as far as body changes/condition and improved antler size/mass.
deerfeeder (search his username) has had some great posts in the past regarding supplemental feeding and what he has seen on the propererties where he does the feeding.

Thanks, will start this weekend. Also, had one suggestion to mix Alfalfa pellets with Old Roy dog food from Walmart. Any comments yes or no?

Never heard of mixing Alfalfa pellets and dog food. I guess the coons might like it.

Must be a recommendation from someone who does not want to see you get your deer to eat out of the feeder. Very tough to get whitetails to eat alfalfa pellets in my experience. Never to late to start feeding. The deer that get on the pellets as soon as they can will benefit the most this season what they can and then have a head start on next season. The fawns that get on pellets later this summer and early this fall will be the deer you want on feed anyway.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Rack plus is a pretty good supplemental feed. Protein and minerals both.

What's the best protein food to put in the feeders? Though it sounds like a smart [censored] answer, the one that your deer will eat. It can be a trial & error process. Start with a corn/protein mixture and gradually ween them to straight protein.

Found a great toasted soybean and corn mix in 50#s at a feed store in McKinney Texas for $10.50 per bag. Any suggestions on same mix and what price at other places?

Deer seem to favor Soybean corn. Still need some protein since they are starting to grow back their antlers. Horns are off, velvet is coming on nicely.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
