I dont think it will take years, the place I hunted in Oklahoma had 900+ acres burn and 4 weeks later its as green as it can be with deer EVERYWHERE.

take some pics if you can and post them post burn, 2 weeks, 4 weeks exct.

Man I hate to see those big liveoaks burn, itlooks like the grass wasn"t real tall so you might be ok with the oaks, you might be surprised by what they can endure. we had a large fire near our place and the oaks came back out with new leaves, killed all the cedar though.Good luck.Oh yeah that area will be thick with deer when it greens up.

Tough to look at the before and the after. The deep ground moisture is going to tell you what will happen with the trees. A good rain will make it look better and you will feel much better about it.

Those pic's are heartbreaking, but don't lose faith. Mother Nature has a way of rebounding.

The only thing you can hope for now is some rain to get things growing back.

I cant believe that feeder was still standing, but like everyone said above things will rebound sooner than you think. There is a reason that the best ranches in the sate use prescribed burns. Hope it all works out for you

This may be the best thing that has happened to that land. Fire is a part of Mother Nature and it has to happen. As long as it does not threaten to kill/injure people or destroy homes, I believe you should let the go.

Fire is a great tool...wild or not.

You let it go in these conditions it will burn the whole freaking country dude. Not to mention when it's so big and out of control that it will take out homes and equipment that people worked their tails of for, and putting firefighters in serious danger at that point trying to save homes. It may be a part of mother nature but I believe that is ignorant.

The only thing that I can figure, is the the grass was gone from all around the feeder from the animal traffic!!
