Has anyone used the ND-3 or the ND-5? I saw it on an episode with Kieth Warren (I'm a Huge Fan) and he was promoting it. Didnt know if it would scare the hogs off or not. Any kind of advice is greatly appreciated.

I use the ND-5 as a hand held for scanning the fields but I have an XLR-250 (green) by Elusive Wildlife mounted on my rifle. That combo works pretty good for me. They don't seem to scare anything off anymore than any other light I've ever used.

I use the ND3, but haven't found any hogs with it yet as I just got it a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't seem to bother anything else yet, though.

They have a Subzero model out thats supposed have addressed the temp issue. Even without the Subzero version the fix, so I hear, is to tape one of those oxygen activated handwarmers over it and it would work in cold weather. This is all hearsay though. On their website ( http://www.lasergenetics.com/nd3x50-sub-zero-laser-designator.aspx) for the Subzero, it goes for $599 with mounts ($175 for the Destroyer w/ mounts), and says the obective is 50mm (Destroyer is about 40mm). It's 10 inches long cpm[ared to 7 for the Destroyer. The Subzero doesn't come with rechargeable batteries, but they both use the same kind and number (2xCR123As or one rechargeable that comes with the Destroyer) so you probably could have a rechargeable Subzero but you'd have to spend yet more money for the rechargeable battery to get it, and their site doesn't give you a run time like the Destroyers' does (3+ hrs for green LEDs). And lastly my LR308 is heavy and bulky enough as it is so I don't want the extra quarter pound of weight the Subzero adds over the Destroyer. I counted up a whole bunch of reasons I would go with a Destroyer right there, lol. My only practical experience with the lasers was enough to let me know my money was better spent on a Destroyer anyway. Here's their website. ( http://www.sniperhawglights.com/thedestroyer.htm) YUou know, you can see really far with the Subzero (500 yds vs the Destroyers 150 yds) but the laser wasn't centered properly in the tubes, on the three ND3s I looked at and they all cast a partial circle for a light, with one side being much more intense than the other side. I didn't want a friggin "beanbag" taped to my rig just to be able to say I have the dang thing. It just wasn't worth it to me, not for the money anyway. I decided to wait a year or two and see how the technology progressed, then decide if I really wanted one. With my Destroyer, I can see just as far with that little green LED as I can with my 15 million candle power, small watermelon sized, flood lamps (Primos and Cyclops) with red lense coating on them and I get a really clear, wide field of view out to about 130 yds on a half moon night, just like with my big arsed flood lamp but in a tiny little package. I have yet to kill a hog with it but I'm going hog hunting this weekend and hopefully I'll have a hunt worth posting about.

Took my ND3 out last night and was able to see clearly to 200 yards through my scope. It was hard to see with the naked eye, but once I zoomed in with my scope, it was lit up like Christmas. That in itself says something.

I have a few and use them quiet a bit. This 55 degree thing is BS from what I have found. I have used it several times this winter when it was in the 20s and 30s with no issues. On one hunt it got down in the teens and it started acting up. I just wrapped a hand warmer around it like their web sit said too and it worked find.

We have had it spook hogs......... knowing that you can also use it to direct them from time to time to get a shot you normally would not get.

You should give it a positive review if you think it deserves one, but so far there were 7 reviews and 6 were 1 out of 5 stars

Bought a ND-5 and it worked great till weather got cold and then mine hardley worked at all, in warm weather i have made shots up to 150yds holding it, like the spot to flood, you can adjust it down to the size you want. would buy the ND-3 if i wanted to mount it on a rifle. Gary

I have a ND-3 and it has always worked great in any weather. Maybe because i didnt mount it on my gun and kept it in my pocket till i needed it. I have read the bad reviews but cant understand why cause i really like mine and it has worked every time without issues.
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

I bought a green LED light at the Dallas gun show last wkend. Came with an extra battery, charger, two mounts, remote switch, all for $75 cash. Usual cost with newer brand light is a little more. I have a 50mm front objective scope. After mounting it the other night, took it out and can see fine to 100+ yds, but limited with trees where I live to see how far I can see well at. I think it's well worth the money. They had a better one that was a little more.

You'll love the ND3 or ND5, both are great.
