How much of aspermont did it reach? which way did it actually blow and is it contained? I heard it torched over 100,000 acres. There isnt much info about it online. Anyone have any clue?

Its estimated at 85% contained. It started by someone cutting pipe to weld later, sparks from the cut set off the site. It start near Swenson actually & passed north of Aspermont & traveled north/northeast towards Knox City/Benjamin & not far south of Guthrie.

http://bigcountryhomepage.com/ has the most coverage on it plus the Texas Forestry website also.

I read in the schools newspaper that over 70,000 acres had burned.

And something like 20 homes lost.... it sure does sound bad.

According to Stonewall County Judge tonight on news, no actual homes lost. I do know there were some older houses (that had been there forever) that burned. Also some barns and other structures lost. It's been amazing to see how close this fire came to houses that were saved.

It was stated that no "occupied" homes were lost, which is good.

Has the fire spread into actual aspermont? i found a map of it, but it kinda sucks. It says the fire is just on the south side of 83 and north of 380. Our lease is in between 610 and 83 right there. Anyone suggest we move our stuff?

You're good Jtunnell. It didn't get into that area.
