I've shot 6 pigs this year. all with 80 grain blue box feds. three in the head and three behind the shoulder with complete pass through. this morning number 7 showed up and I hit her with hornady's superformance 95 grain SSTs in 243. the bullet exploded on impact, zero exit. I want full penetration so I'm going back to the federal's and save $10. a box. Savage RULES,,,, today!

If you want an exit hole, use the 80gr GMX bullet, not the SST. The GMX is a monolithic bullet designed for penetration. The SST is designed for rapid expansion.

I think I'll go back to 100 grain remington core-lokts. they have been doing the job for the last 25 years. got caught up in hornadys racey numbers. with no exit hole I can't get 2 hogs with one shot! GMX= bigger hole in my pocket.

I was also going to say SST and GMX's are quite different bullet construction. I prefer GMX's myself.

i thought it was good to have it stay in the hog/deer ah, the eternal debate...2 holes for a better blood trail, or use all the energy inside the animal. doubt that it will ever be settled.

I want an exit hole! Rather tha bullet coming apart and not penetrating! Use to be a huge fan of 243 pmc with game kings...had two deer that required follow up shots...bullet exploded on a rib...little penatition...switched to tsx and love the.....and love the ttsx's even more... Seen same thing happen with 270 with gamekings. Gmx should be very similar to ttsx. Think both really shine in under 30 cal.and above 30 cal. When pushed faster then 3100-3200 ft.

Using them in 22-250...& the 80 ttsx in a 257wby......make them really really shine.

I want an exit hole! Rather tha bullet coming apart and not penetrating! Same here. Exit hole=better blood trail if you have to trail it.
