Ive got a 2002 4WD 2500HD w/6.0 liter that had 283000 miles on it when the engine died last year. Got a remanufactured engine from City Motors and it hasn't missed a lick since. Kinda hard on gas, 8-9 miles/gallon, but I have a flatbed, dog boxes and a high seat on it. Its a windcatcher, but it is a tough truck!

Dad had an '02 crew cab short bet 2wd 2500 hd with the 6.0. It was a great running truck. It would get 13-14 mpg normal and if you had the patience to set the cruise control at 60 it would get mid 16's on the highway.

He sold it with 45K on it to get a dmax when fuel was cheaper, it was a good move then, not to sure about now

Cannon9 - I've got an 04 2500 HD 4x4 with that same engine. I've logged 149,000 and still going strong! I drive this beast from TX to KS and then into NM every other month. I love this beast!

I have an 01 2500HD 4x4 with the 8.1 liter. It's a hoss for sure and really have not had any problems out of it at all. But it only has 86k miles. It is getting traded in for a cummins.
