Hunted in Taylor Co. with my good friend Jason. His place was covered up with turkeys. Got there Friday afternoon and we took a drive in the Bad Boy to figure out the exact spot we wanted to set up in the morning. Saw a bachelor group of 8-10 jakes running around and that was it. Took the Primos Wet Box with us to see if we could get a gobbler to talk back, nothing was talking though. Next morning, same story. No talking back from any toms- and there were tons of turkeys on the place. Guess they just weren't as lovesick as they will be in a few weeks. But we set up on a familiar trail and even though the toms weren't answering this was still a well traveled corridor for the birds. So about 8am Jason decides to go back to the truck and take a nap ( he was overserved the night before), I stay put. I keep hitting the call every 15 minutes or so. 8:30 rolls around and nature calls. I sneak back in the bushes a few feet and take care of business. As I get back to my thrown together cedar blind I am shocked to see a turkey staring at me 45 yards away. Guess they had come to check out what all the fuss was about. With the intent to bring some turkey home, I had already decided on shooting the first legal bird that came in. Seeing that there were no hens (probably the same bachelor group from the day before) I took aim at the bird in the middle of trail. I could see his friends rapidly dissapearing in the background as they had obviously busted me. Still a couple of stragglers were just a few yards away from him. Now or never.BOOM. Bird down. As I jog over to the spot I hear a bunch of flapping and see that a jake is down next to him. And a 3rd is laying lifeless a couple feet away. Turkey Trifecta . Plenty of meat for the freezer and one tag left to try and get a mature tom next weekend. Winchester Supreme 3 1/2 4 shot with my Remington Versa Max using the "Flooded Timber" choke tube that I still had in there from duck season. Where they ended up after all the flapping around.

Thanks Bobo. BTW, I didn't realize that Jason was a big BU fan. But he was flying the flag proudly on that truck of his. We did drive around last night and mess around with the call and had one bird finally talk back to us. But that was it as far as gobbling went.

That's crazy!
Your story tells like a tall tale, the pics prove otherwise. Congrats on a great hunt!
