 Anybody a Remington model 8 expert? couple of questions

I recently purchased my first model 8. My question is the barrel is marked 25-35 remington, and all the information i can find on the model 8s says they were made in .25 Rem., .30 Rem., .32 Rem., or .35 Remington. I have asked a few people and all I can find out is that 25-35 is an early version of .25 remington. Is it unusual to find a model 8 marked this way? If in fact 25-35 is an older version of .25 rem can you shoot .25 out of the gun? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Can take pics of receiver and barrel marking when i get home. Thanks

PM answered. You cannot fire .25 Remington ammunition in a .25-35. It will not chamber as the base to shoulder length (and other dimensions) are different.
