Undersized bullet or oversized expander ball. What dies are you using?

Another possibility: wrong bullet. Tell us EXACTLY what cartridge you're loading and EXACTLY what bullet you're using. Another possibility is that you have not set up your die correctly. Does the shell holder touch the bottom of the resizing die when you raise the ram?

One more possibility, check the dies to be sure all parts are correct. I recently bought a die set (Lee - used from a THF'r) and the piece that decaps and sizes the neck was the wrong size and caused the neck to be incorrectly sized.

There's so much I don't know that I don't even know what I don't know.

Man, thats a tough question. I had an issue with that a while back. I had a set of hornady dies for .40 S&W. When i would resize, i could then push copper jacketed bullets into the case by hand. Lead bullets worked fine because they were a little larger in diameter. I never could get them to work right. My assumption was that the die had a manufacturing defect. I went out and bought a set of lee dies and never had the issue again.

I would contact lee and let them know of your issue. Are the dies new or old? could be that they are worn out if old from not getting proper lube on the cases in the past. If they are new, call lee. They have amazing customer service. They may just send you a new set if they think its a manufacturing defect or something like that. Either way, they should be able to help you out.

here is their number. (262) 673-3075

Is it a collet type neck sizing die or a full length sizing die? If it is the former, there is a certain amount of pressure needed to get the collet to close around the neck. Also, if it is that particular die it needs to be adjusted correctly and it's a good idea to clean the inside of the die, esp. the collet so it will close properly.

you used the neck sizer instead of the full lenght sizer.

dont be insulted, but all the questions you have been asking...

you need to read your reloading books, your Die instructions,
and spend a lot of time using google to read the bazzilions of posts on forums all over the net, about reloading.

A friend of mine had the same issue at one point, and it was determined that he didn't push the arm all the way down so the neck didn't hit the sizing die correctly. Pushed them all the way down and it fixed it.

25lbs of pressure for lee neck sizer.

ONLY on ONCE FIRED CASES from YOUR gun. <-- ya know, just in case u were using new brass...or someone else's old brass...
but you did say de-primed...

Have to push down pretty hard. It still my not be a really tight fit.
maybe the brass you have is somehow "tougher" to reform.
