Its unfortunate this had to happen. Also, some of the comments on this story from the public were pretty eye opening including these consecutive comments Disgusted with redneck attitudes of entitlement Posted at 12:02 PM March 19, 2011 These duck shooters don't care how cruelly the ducks are treated nor how much they suffer. And all in the name of "sport" - not survival at all! They taunt the protestors and believe it's their "right" to shoot at animals who do them no harm. How it is humane to shoot a flying animal out of the sky, to drop to earth and thus die from the trauma of the fall? These ppl are rednecks, nothing more. Go get a decent hobby, camp, hike, sail, mountain-climb, WHATEVER! But leave our wildlife alone!!

Pras Posted at 12:04 PM March 19, 2011 Use of Guns by civilians should be banned and made illegal ...for obvious reasons!!!!

On another note, when will we get a "controversial extended duck hunting season?"

"I've been shot. I've been shot ... I've lost a tooth. Will I be all right?" she screamed."THE future of duck hunting is the subject of bitter debate after a protester was shot in the face by a teenage hunter."...Guess that debate is over "Witnesses claim they saw the 14-year-old boy taunting the victim, St Kilda woman Julia Symons, minutes before she was peppered with shotgun pellets at Lake Buloke in the state's northwest."And you thought lake naming was serious on THF Hmmmm, this is too easy

You know... if protesters showed up when I was hunting, I guess I'd turn into a Barney!
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Since we're on this topic, unless these animal rights activists are 100% vegetarian they need to STHU Where do they think all that nice pretty meat comes from at the grocery store? It amazes me how many of them are not vegetarian. Complete hypocrites. At least what we harvest lived freely and wasn't raised for the single purpose of slaughter. Not that I have anything against agriculture - I come from a long line of ranchers and farmers - just sayin wild game lives... wild. X2. Meat eating hunters vs meat eating anti-hunters, I say hunters appreciate life more because they are man enough to take a life themselves for food vs paying someone else to do it for them.

I get really tickled at the vegan folks, especially the ones that do it in the name of animal rights. If you really think about it most plants that are consumed are amputated to death, or are boiled, fried, baked, or grilled to death, frozen to death, or just eaten alive... While on the other hand, animals that are consumed are put down in a humane way for the most part. What if we started a plant life rights organization and campaigned against the inhumane consumption of plant life. Then we could all starve to death........
