He should just find him a good home. It's difficult to sel a 9 year old dog of any breed.

I assume german wirehaired pointer, not a wirehaired pointing griffon. Because I have a 1yr old griffon.

Why don't you just keep the dog? The cat is already gone.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

I am just posting for a friend, his number is there refer questions to him? I have hunted behind this dog, this is the second cat in three weeks, neighbors followed by his wife's cat. As for me I would give the dog a welcome pat on the head for killing any ditch cougar.

The rancher's wife is a vet. She spays barn cats, and feeds them in the barn. There are more quail within a quarter of a mile from the barn, than there is on the remainder of the 640 acre pasture.

Sorrey for the offense Mr Oxner; but past studies by the Parks and wildlife folks show house cats (especially ferrel) are very good at stalking and killing quail. Did not mean to offend any one; but I have always expressed my views as I see tham. I would not make a good elected official.

I've hunted wild bobwhite quail for 44 years in Texas, and never seen one feral cat in the field.

I am 77 and hunted in the heyday 1960,70's, and 80's around san saba richland springs, brady, ballinger, goliad, archer city, cross plains and other areas in this state. I cannot tell you how many cats we have seen in the fields. Remember the fur trade days of the 60 and 70's; several of my friends told of catching many house cats when trapping for coons. And believe me I am not sick. thanks for your time dobank

I have not been hunting for 77 yrs, but I too have seen plenty of house (feral?) cats in the woods. My Brittany's have pointed and jumped several and I have had them come to calls while varmint hunting. They can be a destructive problem and I will do my part to prevent it if I am in the woods. Just FYI.

If you are looking for a bird dog; here he is all the work has been done. These dogs are versitile; will hunt just about anything plus retrieve. At his age he has several good years left. If I did not have two now; I would take him in a second. Please someone give this dog some consideration.
