Just curious if anyone has seen or heard of any alligators in the Navasota river around or south of the Bryan/College Station area.

One was caught in Wolf Pen Creek when I was there, but it was obviously someone's pet that they got sick of caring for. Around 3 feet and very tame.

Very possible.

I've had friends see or catch them in the BCS area, Huntsville area (Trinity River, State Park, Lake Raven), Gibbons Creek.

Parts of the Navasota River Basin provide excellent habitat for them.

Class of 98 we used to duck hunt the lower basin. We have seen a few over the years but nothing like the Trinty.

Okay, this was about 20 years ago but HECK YES, there WERE gators around the Navasota River. I was at A&M and went fishing on some land owned by some Houston Company (roommates dad worked there) northeast of Bryan. We started fishing the ponds just on the west side of the river (not the river itself) and gators started popping their heads up just as we were rowing the canoe out to the middle.

When we yelled "GATORS" to the guys who had already waded in up to their waist. You should have seen them high step it back to solid ground. Funny to this day seeing those kids running out of the water....

I would say yes, an 11 footer was killed in Bastrop last week. The person who killed it was charged with a misdemenor.

Theres a LARGE male gator in the Navasota just south of hwy 30 bridge on Sulpher Springs. We see him sun bathing every summer. Also have caught quite a few on top water baits messing around at Democrat Rd. Ive got a 12ft flat bottom and he is easily the same length as it

Seems like they're everywhere now. Heck, two gators over 10ft were caught just down the draw from my ranch in Midland County recently. Never would have thought that...

Apparently, there's more than just gators lurking around Brazos County.

This was on KBTX this morning.
