Ok I am confused. Is that 175 + 275 for first bird = 450 + another 175 if we want 2 birds = 625? Or is it 175 for the whole hunt? It not a hunt if you cant shoot anything, that makes it just a watch. Lol. So if I am understanding this right it is 175 for lodging and guide plus additional cost for birds. Am I right?

I guess everyone has their own definition of affordable. All these fees for this that and the other just is ridiculous to me. Why can't poeple just give flat rates and quit trying to hind the true cost of a hunt.

I just cant believe how much people charge for Turkey Hunts in general lol. Turkeys are a bonus to me if one decides to pop out after I have taken my deer already.

well, what if we said 625 to come hunt whether you shoot or not? not here to argue...the outfitter I used to work for charges 925 but he is selling to out of state. we know that turkeys are selling for about 300 bucks

So you only pay extra if you shoot a bird......I like that.

Where at?

I'm realy not complaining about what he is charging. Just the way he worded it is what I don't like. I know that his prices are right in line with a lot of others. I would not have said a word if he would have said lodging is 175 and left the hunt part out of it. Putting that in just makes it miss leading. I have noticed more and more outfitters not make their pricing very clear and then when you get their or go to book the hunt things get sprong on you.

I agree. And then someone will come on here tell you all about the hunt but they will not put the price.

I find the whole pricing thing rather difficult. My husband and I live on our hunting ranch as caretakers. The owner of our ranch really values his game and wildlife and frankly doesn't need to sell any hunts at all, so he expects us to sell the hunts for what he wants to get for them. He bases his prices on what surrounding areas/outfitters are asking. He then pays my husband and me to guide and host, cook, clean the cabin, etc etc.

So of course it makes no difference to the owner whether or not we sell hunts, but to us it makes a huge difference. We do agree with him on the value of the game, and we never sell all the tags we are issued so as to keep the hunting pressure down, so we ask for what the hunts are worth and sell to the rare hunter that can afford it and can recognize its value.

I do totally agree that hidden fees are not cool.
