I don't want to get into too much detail about how I arrived at this point, but I ended up with a deer mount that has the wood pedastal behind it which I do NOT want. I don't really feel like dealing with the original taxidermist, so thought I'd ask here. Is it possible to just ditch the wood pedestal and rig it up to hang directly on the wall?

Thanks.

yes. its very easy. Just unscrew the wood plaque and put on a heavy duty hanger directly on the plywood form backing.

Its about a 2 minute job.

Appreciate it. I wasn't sure how it was mounted to the wood plaque.
