On my place in Jones Co. there has not been any activity yet. Hopefully soon though.

Thanks. With this warm spell I keep thinking they will be gobbling early and finished up breeding before season starts, but our rancher has not good turkey reports just yet.

With the drought you guys had year before last, you may not have a whole bunch of mature birds to gobble.

Hello fellas. I'm new here to THF and this is my first post. I have been visiting here the past few days and I believe this is a great forum to pick up tips and advice from fellow outdoorsman.

I saw a gobbler yesterday on my course with 5 hens. He was in full strut and didn't pay too much attention to me in my pickup truck. I was disappointed and told the other assistant this can't be good. I have a pic but don't know how to upload it and make sure it doesn't exceed max pixels.

On the homeplace in the northeastern corner of Coleman county...we have 1...just 1 single old tom gobbling around. No sign or sound of any others in the area. Poor ole boy is really lonely.

Now on the other hand, down at the lease by Lake Ivie (northside) is covered in turkeys, MOSTLY hens and a decent number of jakes. What few toms I have seen on game cam have short or broken off beards due to the rocks terrain there.

Spent the morning in the field in wise county I found me 3 nice Toms with about 10 hens that I will chase on opening weekend. All three birds were in FULL Strut mode following their girlfriends like lost puppy dogs smile I will be in there before day light and see if I can lure them away from their ladies....

I have a half mile of the Colorado in Runnels county and this week, the hens are still together and I havent heard any toms. I am starting an outfitting business and am offering some combo turkey/hog hunts. For this year, it will be semi guided and lodging for $250.00 for 1 tom, 2 hogs, all varmints. Limited to two hunters per booking.

I'm 90mi south of Sang just west of Ozona. I've been the last two weekends and it has been tough. They are gobbling but not really working. Hens are still in groups and jakes are still in groups. Big toms are in 2s and 3s. Next trip is on the 16th. It should be on like donkey kong. If you go this weekend please post results.

Heard some in southern Hemphill Co. this morning. They were about 150-200 yards from the rig I'm working on. Couldn't tell what they were as I left my bino's at the house bang. I could see a couple of them strutting and there was roughly 25 in the group, I'm sure there were some hens in there too.
