My buddy and I try this every year for the most part, but this season opening morning one with shotgun and one with bow. Bow goes first. Both of us have killed birds with our bows, but that was in the fall. Cannot wait to try it by calling them in.

No pop up, just a brush blind.

This year I'm going after them hard with my bow. I've never taken a turkey with my bow, and I'm really excited about trying.

Bow first for me. I will be using a pop-up blind at my primary hunting spot, I am also going to try and get some good footage. Should be a good season, I missed my turkey season last year due to deployment so I am out for blood.

yes, i will be hunting with my primitive bow this season. Last year I came close and got some feathers with it...This year the plan is to get one. If at the end of the season i still have not gotten one..then perhaps ill pull out the shotgun.

Ive killed more with a bow then a shotgun but I use a pop-up and when times are hard and my calling is not sexy I will pick them off going to the feeder.

I might try it with a bow. I usually go to hunting camp with friends and then leave the gun in the case and drink instead.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Yep. I'm going down to the ranch on Friday for a four day hunt. My plans are to use a pop-up blind with the bow. I drew back on one last year but got busted... I'm out for blood and vengeance this year. I know where he is roosting.

yup. I will be hunting from a 16 ft bow stand for the first time this year, but only in the afternoons. Morning I will be shot gun (I still like to snuggle in the cedars).
What is the best broadhead? Are grim reapers OK to use?

Gonna let the little one try to get his first with a shotgun, then I'll probably go with the recurve.

Gonna try with my bow but gotta take a friend that has never shot a turkey or been turkey hunting before. I am gonna make him shoot with a bow because he has never been bow hunting and i told him if he can kill a turkey with a bow than he can kill anything with a bow. Any good suggestions on turkey broad heads i shoot montecs and rages but was thinking on trying something different.

I shoot rage three blades at everything. Just make sure that if you are using mechanical blades to watch your angles so they don't deflect.
I am weary of those grim reapers. they look like they will fly like a wobbly stone.
I'm sitting at the office about to head out. I'll post some pics if we bag some long beards this weekend.

What kind of broad heads do you use with your bow for turkeys?

I've started turkey hunting for the first time this year. Actually went on my first hunt this morning. I'm determined to take my first turkey with my bow and will not use anything else until I do. Some people have called me crazy, but I'm determined to do it. Glad to hear there are others out there that are as determined as me. Good luck to everyone!!
