ok I have narrowed my search for a bow between 2 bow's. Both are $599 loaded with basics for hunting. I know I need to purchase the one that feels better to me, but are there any specific features or issues for either of these bows that I need to be aware of? They seem very similar in alot of ways.

For that Money you need to check out the Bowtech Assassin. New for this year and not packaged for the mass retailers like the Stinger and Kronic, but it is ready to hunt.

Check out Jerry's Review of it:

For that price I have seen fully loaded much better rigs on the "Trading Post" section on here! I would go that route!!

X2 If you are going to spend $600 go get you a Bowtech Assassin. Way better bow for the money.

Have you had a chance to check out Jerry's review on the assassin yet? I personally feel that they are all 3 good bows. You should be able to get a stinger cheaper than $599 you can get a Bow Madness for around that.

How old is the Stinger now 3 or 4 years, and I know the Kronic is at least 2. Big changes in bows since then. I suggest the buyer go somewhere else besides BPS for their first bow. Most other shops carry bows in this price range and will help professionally fit the bow to you, find the optimal arrow,,, etc.

There are better ready to shoot bows out there IMHO.

$599 sounds really high for the stinger. That bow runs $300 bare and I can garantee you, you are not getting $300 worth of accessories for it.

If you can swing you can get alot of bow for $600, I only have a few dollars more than $600 in my omen. Buy a used bow from someone the stinger isn't bad but 300 fps ibo is quite dated for the time.

you guys have been very helpful. Thanks I am going to continue to looking around. I visited a local bow shop over the weekend and he was pushing me to purchase the Misson Craze package. It was very small and I didn't know if it is a lady or kids bow. I am not huge but it felt like a kiddy toy.

Are those package deals a good way to start? they usually come with peep, 3 pin site, quiver, arrows, practice and broadhead and a hard case... for a set price. huntersfriend.com is where I have been looking mostly.

Several folks have talked badly about Bass Pro Shop so I am a little weary of buying there.

A buddy of mine was gonna get one of the stinger packages from Bass Pro but it was only $299? Academy also has had them for that much. After dealing with Bass Pros crap I talked him into talking to North Texas Archery in Farmersville and he got a Mission Eliminator 2.
