Not sure I've ever been check dove hunting but I've been checked duck hunting at least once a season. This year I had 3 run ins. I've always been clean but if you get caught with lead sheels I heard they can fine you for each shell.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

I get checked almost every time I dove hunt, but I dove hunt on unfenced farm land that is "almost" public.
I don't get checked duck hunting very often.

I get checked almost every time I dove hunt, but I dove hunt on unfenced farm land that is "almost" public.
I don't get checked duck hunting very often. I've had my "best" dove hunts on "almost" public land. Best days were "around" 100yds from my office. "White" fences really attract dove. (thumbs up)

If lead was so bad I would be dead by now. I don't have any faith in these environmental studies. How many of you spent your child hood with a mouth full of lead pellets every day hunting birds and rabbits with a pellet gun? Uhhh, lol, no I never did that. I didnt eat paint chips either. But yeah I know all kinds of really dumb kids would put coins in their mouths as well as all kinds of other stuff. I had no such oral fetishes. Has nothing to do with an oral fetish, can't even believe you thought of that. Makes me wonder about you a bit now. It has to do with quick reloads. Guess you never played with mercury either. My mom could not keep a thermometer in our house.

No, never put pellets in my mouth. I have put nails in my mouth when doing some carpentry work, but that is steel so is ok. I always put pellets in my pocket. I would think that is better, hold gun with one hand, reach in your pocket and grabs some pellets. I would think if you had pellets in your mouth, it would be hard to put the pellets in the gun will slobber all over them.

I have always used lead, but it wont bother me to switch to steel. I am surprised as well that it has not already been banned.
