I want to get a muzzle brake for my .260 Rem but there are not very many 6.5 choices available, could I use a .30 cal muzzle brake or are muzzle brakes caliber specific?
I know recoil isn't bad and I don't need a brake and that it will make it louder but that's okay with me. Thanks for your help.

A .30 cal brake will work but it won't be quite as effective as one made for a .264 cal. The normal clearance is around .020"-.030" overall or .010"-.015" to the side. The closer the hole is to the bullet diameter the less blow by thus forcing more exit gases through the ports.
