Im looking at buying a Yukon NVG sight Model NVRS. Does any one have any info on them? It is for a reasonable price and i know nothing about night vision. It is a 1.5x42 gen 1. Would anyone know its effective range and is it worth buying.

thanks josh

I have a Gen 1 scope but its the higher end one. I do have a Yukon Monocular but its a digital one that magnifies up to 5x power. Having spent a year in the field using NV I would honestly go as high end as you possibly can. I am about to purchase a Gen 2 just because I got a pay bonus.

I have Yukon NVMT 3x42, effective range less than 75 yard. They are ok for $349 @ OpticPlanet.com

Buy once Cry once. I had a buddy spend close to $4000 trying diffrent scopes starting with a couple Gen 1s ,then a few Gen 2s. Finaly bought a Gen 3 D740 for around 3K. If he would have just saved till he could afford the gen 3 he would have saved a lot of $$$ . The only problem now is we want Thermal , which are scary BIG $$$$$$$ BUY ONCE , CRY ONCE .
