So has anyone else noticed all of the surveyor's tape and stakes up on the LBJ Grasslands? I hate to say it but it looks like they are either plotting new gas & oil pipeline routes threw the LBJ for the Barnett Shale OR they are getting ready to start drilling.... Either way I hate to say this but it looks like the federal government is going to let the oil & gas industry destroy the grasslands.......

Destroy? Haven't been down there to see what you may be talkin' about here but destroy may not be the word. I work on the barnett and up by forrestburg sunset munster area a bit too and we see deer hog's and turkey's come right by the pad's all the time. They really don't pay as much attn. to it as most people think they do. As far as road builing that that do yeah it takes up a bit of land but doesn't neccesarily destroy anything the deer just take a couple of week's to get used to it.

Sure the wildlife may get used to it, but you can't say that it doesn't "destroy" the landscape. Particularly in an areas such as the grasslands.

I do not know the details with LBJ, but a lot of federal lands don't have control of the minerals and can not always say yeh or neh on drilling.

I am planning on heading out there tomorrow sit on the hill and scout tomorrow morning. I will let you know what I see and if I see a staff member I will ask for sure. I did see some last year but not in the fall when I was there. Hard to tell.
