When I got there parking was crazy. An Alpaca show and a girls regional dance competition all going on at once in the same area. Little girls and their families running amok through the parking lots and streets. Alpaca fans wandering around like they were lost. Gun show goers milling about in the parking lot in the midst of the dance recital and alpaca crowds. Trailers of alpacas trying to back in to unload, 3 escaped alpacas frolicking in the parking lot / street, little girls screaming 'look how cute' while running towards them which scared the daylights out of them. Of course this caused the alpacas to run away from those trying to re capture them. Run they did, directly into the drivers door of my truck. So I reached through the window and grabbed 2 of them by their fuzzy ears, the thought never entered my mind how strong they were how high they can jump or that they spit when pissed off. It also never occurred to me how pissed off an alpaca owner would get if someone grabbed his prized alpacas by the ears. (You just can't make up stuff like this.)
It wasn't even 9am and I'd had enough, so I went to a friends house and showered took a nap ate lunch. Then I went back to the gun show the dance thing was over, plenty parking available.
Found the rifle I was looking for and got home at 5pm.
I'm not going without a video camera or a witness next time.

Rustler, that was quite a story. If I had known previously, I'da been there to watch, parking fee or not. And that was kinda rude of the owner, obviously he couldn't catch them.

Maybe you should've grabbed the owner by the ears and spit in his face.......just before you told him how much the door damage would cost I'm going to try and go today......I'm carrying my Alpaca repellant!

I was clean and presentable when I arrived, it was after the alpaca encounter that my status changed.
This was the first show I've been to in over a year where there were some good deals to be had.
