I went yesterday to Champion Firearms and test fired the Glock 17 in the 9mm as well as the M&P in the 9mm. I shot well with both, but the M&P felt a lot better in my hand. Any owners out there have any feedback that they would like to share about their M&P's in either caliber? I am looking to get one within the next couple months. Thanks

We've had an M&P 9mm for about 3 years now. It has held up great. The only function issues we ever had were due to Monarch ammo. With Winchester anything it runs great. Wish the trigger was a tiny bit smoother but it is nice and light and has served us well. I am also quite surprised how well its held up. Its got 500 or so rounds through it and been in and out of pistols but looks as new as the day we bought it.

It all depends on how it feels in your hand. Both will perform exceptionally well. In order to answer the caliber question, you need to give more details about what the gun will be used for...

I got my girl a 9 mm M&P. I might have to take it from her. I really like the way that thing shoots. maybe I'll just go get another one. Great for a left handed shooter also.

I'd go with the .40 over the 9mm given your intended purpose.

I own both the 9 and 40.....I love them and could get the 45 soon...I do like the way it feels.....I would take my 40 over my nine any day (but do not tell her I said that)lol

which every way you go both are great.

I have the 9mm and 45 but if I were to do it all over again I would get the 40. With a 40 you can have multiple calibers with the 357 SIG that just takes an after market barrel change. The 9mm is much cheaper to shoot over time.
