Looking to break in my new AR. Won't be home till around June, but would like to find some prairie dogs to practice on. If anyone knows of anywhere, please let me know. Thanks.

The closest towns I know of are in the southern panhandle just up on top of the Caprock. There might be some below the cap, but I'm not familiar with them. About 320 miles from Killeen to the cap.
Silver spurs and gold tequila
keep me hanging on.
Pretty girls and old cantinas
give me shelter from the storm.

Permian basin has them but that is ~300 miles from Killeen.

Panhandle or west Tx has them...doubt you find anything close to the area stated but best of luck. They are so fun to pop.

I hear the San angelo area has some. I myself am headed up to the Lubbock area in April to shoot P-Dogs.

You will be driving a ways for a PD. Unless you can find some private land in the Permian Basin your best bet may be in Eastern NM or Texas Panhandle. Contact Fred Pronger up at Stratford. Lots of PD's on his place.
