Where the heck are all of you guys when someone here says he shoots them in the guts and lets them run off so he doesn't have to deal with them and they still die (eventually)? IMHO that's much worse of a behavior.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

They are both f'ed up, a hog is no less of a living thing than a trophy deer and they should still be treated with respect. I will let a hog lay but I kill it humanely and know that some other animals will get a lot of food out of that hog.

I was wondering why the hogs weren't busting through the fence too. However, I'm under the suspicion that the man behind the gun was such a poor shot that the hogs had to be sedated, and therefore could not break out.

All I can say about the multiple shots is, no one has to tell me I have twenty rounds...and it doesn't take me long to get them down range!!!

Is it just me or does hog hunting seem to bring out more of that kind of activity? I know there are unethical people everywhere and people with different standards (some call me unethical for hunting HF) but it just seems like I see more pigs getting that treatment than other animals.

It is because hogs are " non game " animals and by law, anything goes. And some folks take that to heart , good, bad or otherwise.

I agree that feral hogs are a problem, however, people such as those seen in the video are more of a problem than the hogs. People such as yourselves are the reason we have so many laws and regulations involving unfair sport and canned hunts! This is a CANNED HUNT by every definition I have ever heard or read. I both trap and hunt hogs, when they are trapped they are trailered and taken to a butcher, when shot on the hoof on a low fence property, they are shot no more than twice if moving(I'm not a marksman by any standards) and a one shot guaruntee if stationary. Cruel and unusual, and if you call yourself a hunter after an outing at this place, you should be ashamed!
