$5.90 for a 50lb bag in Melvin at Jacoby's. Cheapest I have found this year.

What is it at the Mason Feed Store? Or is your place in Mason but you live elsewhere?

I haven't checked it out in Mason yet...I have a place on the Llano/Mason county line but usually go to Llano and then a place in Gillespie County and a new place near Melvin of which I have never hunted before. I am excited to see what is out there. I will check out the Mason Feed Store and let you know. Do you hunt there?

No its OK you don't need to check for me. I used to have a place at Art, TX. If you dont know Art which I am sure you do, its between Mason and LLano. I still have my ranch outside of Junction though.

Wal-Mart must not be to consistent on pricing i was there yesterday in Bryan and it was $3 something. Whatever it was i divided the $4.95 i pay for a 50 pounder and then divided wal-mart's by 40 pounds and wal-mart was cheaper per pound.

$3.50 a 40lb. bag, because of price matching when Academy had it on sale for the same price. Keep your receipt and they will honor that price until they stop selling deer corn.

$5.50 a 50# bag in cross plains at J&L sales. I think that is the name of the place. It is at the main intersecion, 4 way stop, across from the DQ. Can't miss it.

May not help this year, but because of my job in agriculture, i run across some deals with soybeans, and we mix soybeans with the corn in our feeders, 1 bag corn/1 bag soybeans. Next year check with your local farmer supply store and ask him what he would sale you seed beans for after the planting season. Usually they will sale them and current market price. This year the price is really high, but we plan to use them before we leave the camp at the end of the season, it is helps cut down on protien bill! Luckily I worked a deal on some iron clay peas, One of my dealers gave me 500 50# bags, at that price the deer are going to eat them with corn if they like it or not

$5.45 per bag at the produce stand across from J&L sales in Cross Plains. The cute blonde will even help you load it.

Whatever the closest places asks. Cant see driving around all over town to save a $1 while burning $5 in gas.

I hit 3 places last Friday. $4.89 per 40 lb at Academy. $5.75 per 40 lb. at WalMart in Bowie. $6.86 per 50 lb bag at the Feed Store in Bowie. I had passed on Academy and bought at the feed store. That worked out to less per pound than Wal Mart.

The owner of the Feed Store told me that he pays $6.40 per 50 pound bag. I don't figure Wal Mart pays that much. But they try to sell at a higher price. Hope they get to eat it.
