Borrowed this ND3 for a night hunt coming up. Not sure how hogs react to these. What about yotes?

Just don't have the beam turned down in too small a beam, it's pretty intense. Open the beam up wide pointing above the critters and bring down the lited circle on them and they'll never know it's there.

My wife must be a cross between a Indian and a bulldog. When she's not on the warpath, she's sitting on her butt growling.

We're burnin daylite.

ND3 sucks. I went through 2. Battery life is horrible. My Kill light is awesome. I like being able to recharge, and also having a spare battery.

Kinda sad actually to think of all the time and effort that went into making that thing. If they had just done a little more research, they might of learned 2 very important things...

1) Red is the hardest color for a hog's eye to pick up, period. Other colors will work, but why reduce your odds... and..

2) There IS such a thing as too much light. ALL you need is just enought to see the crosshairs, that's it. The more visible light, the greater the chance they will spook.....

The best thing you can do with an ND3 (other than leave it in the truck) is to crank the focus in tightly and use it to "direct" the herd from distances greater than a quarter mile. It will get 'em moving without giving away your position, which is handy when they're in a pasture where you don't want to shoot. Once they're close, they can see it and will spook.

I am really glad I read this thread, I was thinking of parting with $ 280.00 for the ND 3 subzero. I guess keep looking.

Thanks

On the kill light, what do you recommend for night predator hunting? Red, green or white light?

red will probably work the best but will reach out there much less than the green... white probably isn't a good idea for predator hunting but i've seen some people use them, it will be the brightest

The good thing about the kill light is that you can change the colors out for like 20 dollars. It is also a true LED light.

Mine is green. Order it direct from Elusive Wildlife Technologies. They are in Houston and great to work with.
