OK, So I finally got around to buying one of those green hog light kits that attach to the bottom of the feeder. The hogs will not come into the light at all. We even tried some home-made slop with donuts, syrup, chicken left overs, etc. As a matter of fact the craziest thing happened last night. I shot this BIG coon with a complete pass thru (arrow). The arrow sticks into the base of a small cedar next to and behinf the feeder. We can see the green glow of the illuminated nock. So about 20 minutes later we hear this pig coming in. He skirts the feeder just outside the illumination of the light. Then walks over to my arrow, yanks it out of the tree, and sits there chewing on it like a jerky stick. I guess the blood was really tasty to him. It was crazy, seeing that nock dancing around in the dark. You guys have any ideas on how to get them under the feeder light so I can at least get a shot? Thanks.

Probably your smell that is spooking them, not the light. I have the same light and don't have any problem getting pigs under the light. Get a dusk-dawn sensor and stay away from your feeder.

My guess is you are getting winded. They wont notice the light. Just give it another shot with the wind in the right direction. They can be crafty, but dont let them fool you into thinking they arent anything besides stinky ham.

how high is the light off the ground?! I learned I actually educated my hogs to the red light I used constantly, thus I went into night vision mode. i know thats impossible with bow.

I tested my green light 3 nights ago on coons, deer and cows they never reacted to it.

I bought a solar powered light at lowes for $30 and painted the lens green with a permanent marker. The pigs got use to the light. Since the light won't last all night I also bring a $10 six volt light which I tape to the t-post my solar light is attached too. When I'm ready to hunt I attach my green hawglite to my bow or rifle. Never have a problem unless I'm winded as well.

i just use regular solar lights from home depot, never tried colored lights and pigs come in all the time. when its overcast or i plan on staying late i just swap out the rechargables with standard batteries while im there.
