The most accurate of the bunch is the RUM and the WSM. I would go with the RUM. The only drawback to the WSMs is they dont always feed that great. You will not be dissapointed in the RUM! Accuracy is out of sight! Good luck and good shootin to ya! Probably the best bang for your buck is the Sendero stainless fluted. You should be a ble to pick one up for under $1000.

Give me some reasons why it's true or false. You have shot both and what did you like about one and not the other?

Go to ANY long range shoot and see how many 300wm you see there compared to 300 ultras. There is a reason those guys shoot what they do.

But to answer your question as you asked, Out of the box rifle, out of the box ammo, a non belted case will be inherently more accurate than the belted case.

"Headspace problems are much more common with belted magnum calibers. This is because ammunition manufacturers ALWAYS make their belted magnum calibers to headspace on the belt. They also leave the shoulder extremely far from contacting the chamber. This causes the first firing of belted cases to stretch quite badly." Non belted magnums headspace from the shoulder, so the VIRGIN case "fits" the chamber better... If you reload your own ammo, when you fire the case in your chamber in your rifle the case stretches and fits the chamber, at that point when you reload, you can neck size and"bump" the shoulder, then you will be headspacing from the shoulder and accuracy will then be greatly enhanced (300wm)!

I have a .300 Weatherby Mag (German made Mark V) and a .308 Norma Mag (Schultz & Larsen, Denmark). They're both great shooting, very accurate, beautifully made rifles....but I never shoot either of them. I hunt in Texas and there's no reason to shoot such a large rifle. Besides, they both kick like mules. Only rifle I've hunted with for the last 10+ years has been Browning A-bolt .270 Win. It's been reliably killing deer out to 300+ yards the whole time. Why go with anything else?

Oh beleive me, I understand. I also knew EXACTLY what your answer was going to be, headspace. Thats great in theory, but theory doesn't always pan out in the REAL world.
Nice "quotes" BTW, go and and shoot a little more of both and bring back some actual experience then get back to me.

The first photo shows the belted case and how it headspaces, the second photo shows a non belted case and how it headspaces... As I said in my earlier post, the non belted case is going to be inherently more accurate than the belted case... After the first firing and the belted case fits the chamber, then it can be headspaced at the shoulder and accuracy becomes greatly improved, as I said previously. Then it all changes and it comes down to all the other variables.

BTW I have WSM's and belted mags and have loaded for both and shot with both. In some rifles my WSM is more accurate, in others the old 300 WM is more accurate.
The most accurate 300 I've ever seen is an old H&H (looong case, and belted) that a buddy owns. Not a WSM or any other .300 I've seen would touch it.

But who knows, I'm sure I'm wrong and you're right... RIGHT??? I have added reason why I think one way and you have added nothing... I wish you would explain your reasoning instead of just telling me that I'm wrong!
