Anybody have any reviews for the Remington R1? Thinking of buying one soon, I like Remington but was wondering if I should go with Springfield? Looking to spend around $600 if there's a better option.

They get very good reviews in the 1911 section of Glocktalk. I am very impresses with that part of the forum. A lot of very experienced 1911 guys there.

Nice review in the Feb American Rifleman. Suggested retail $699. Nice big three dot sights, good quality barrel, consistent lock up between barrel and slide gave 2" 25 yd groups. All steel 5" .45 auto. Good lookin pistol.

I have not fired one, but picked one up at academy the other day and it was very impressive. Felt heavy and tight! I bet they shoot good! Let us know if you get one!

I'm gonna buy some parts for my build then buy a pistol, I've never held 1911 so I don't know how they feel but man I love the way they look! I like the price of the Remington too.
