I thought this deer needed to be shoulder mounted, but the customer is always right. Enjoy!

Looks good. I'd have probably euro mounted that buck as well. He's got some character.

Looks great but I agree that deer should have been a shoulder mount.

Probably just a nice management buck to the customer. He probably has lots of bucks that are bigger on his wall.

Actually the customer commented on it being the largest deer taken on his lease in 25 years. The beauty of the euro mount tho is that he can change his mind next year and bring me a cape to mount the antlers on.

That's exactly why I like euro's, can always switch to a shoulder.

Hey sendero I didn't realize you could take a euro and turn it into a shoulder. Is there anything special I do with the cape or just bring it in like i normally would? Also I guess would that be the same price as doing a shoulder mount the first time around?
Hey another question. What do you use to get your skull so white. I did my first euro myself this year but yours looks like it got way whiter than mine. Just curious if you don't mind sharing, or just pm me.
By the way great looking mount. I did mine this year with some cedar I found out on our lease. Its the post titled "first DIY euro". I think the wood gives that type of mount a tone of more appeal than a plaque specially when you hav the ununiformed antlers like that. just my .02.
Thanks James C.

Also I guess would that be the same price as doing a shoulder mount the first time around? To turn a Euro into a shoulder mount, you need a cape from a deer of similar size and yes it would cost the same as any shoulder mount or you need to have saved the cape and had it tanned. Hey another question. What do you use to get your skull so white. I did my first euro myself this year but yours looks like it got way whiter than mine. Just curious if you don't mind sharing, or just pm me. 35% Hydrogen Peroxide and a little heat, just be sure to wear gloves.

hey i appreciate the tip on the peroxide. I used a 40vol. on mine but didn't put heat to it. I'll give that a try with the next one.
Thanks James C.
