i shot several squirrels and jackrabbits and a tanning kits on its way...
i rolled them in salt and froze them in a ziploc bag?
is this the best way to keep them "fresh" until cabelas delivers my dang kit!!

I would wash the salt off, towel dry the skin and hair place back in the bags and freeze them, the salt will not let the skin freeze.

no salt. freeze it with the hair out, inside to inside so that the hair wont pull off when frozen then unfroze.

If you salt them you do not need to freeze them. You can salt them leave them out to dry hard or you can take the salt off and roll it up and freeze it.
