How many of you are looking for a new lease this year? Seems every year there are a ton of guys looking so there should be a ton of new leases out. What made you leave or why did you get kicked off?

I had oil companies come in and lease the land from underneath me twice this past year. I don't blame them. If I was getting paid millions of dollars for my property I wouldn't lease anymore either.

I am in the market for a new lease. The family we leased from decided to try their hand at doing a high fence private hunting club, so they jacked the price up. They want a 5,000 a year membership fee, plus a day fee, and a trophy fee. I wish them luck and hope they do well, just not my style hunting.

Early to bed, early to rise, hunt all day and make up lies.

Yes. I know several places that charge 5000 per gun, but not the day fee and trophy fee along with it.

ya that does sound alittle strange. it would be cheaper to just got to a highfence hunt somewhere else and kill some stuff!

I'm looking for a good lease member if I can find the right guy. That's as tough as finding a lease.

Well I found a good lease, now I just need to find enough serious hunters to fill it.

Haven't been on a lease in 13 years, me and some buddies who have been on other leases are looking to see if we can find one for about 7 or 8 of us.

If anybody hears of a good guy that's management minded (looking for 4.5yr old bucks or older) let me know. Just need 1 guy that can tell the difference between a 3.5 and 4.5 yr old buck.

I'm looking for a new lease as well! 133+/- acres with 6 hunters, I think not!!! I've been on it off/on for 13yrs and my wife also wants me to get on another lease that is more management minded! I live to deer hunt and have very good hunting ethics, but I can't hunt around people who just shoot anything and everything!!! It gets real frustrating, real quick! I can only spend about $800 max for a lease so I'm kinda stuck like chuck I guess... I am thinking about 200 acres I found that hasn't been hunted hardly at all over the past 3 years and it's around $650, so I might snatch it up!!! I'd really like to be able to see some quality deer for a change or at least a legal buck, lol!!!

I want to keep the one I have, it's got potential, but I'm looking. If I can't find something for my whole group I'll settle for two spots on a good place. Gonna spend some cash and get a decent spot this time. I'm tired of "working" so hard at it and being disappointed. I don't mind the effort and investment, but I need a return.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I'm very happy with all 3 leases I'm on now (1 big, 2 small), but if the right opportunity came along, I might drop 1 or both of the small leases and get on a second big lease.

Amen bro.. I don't mind working my butt off or paying the $$, as long as there's a possibility of seeing good deer.
cheers

I'm always looking for leases, but they generally need to be bordering where we already hunt.
