I dont know much about muzzle brakes but I have been doing alot of research as I am thinking about getting one for my 300wsm. I agree with yukon and hw, i think the vais muzzle brake looks to be one of the best out there and may also help keep the "noise" down a little..

Call: Worthams Firearms in Forney, Texas. I have had them install 2 Holland breaks, best money I have ever spent. On my 223 I watch the target explode! On my Beowulf the hogs fall over while I never lose the sight picture. Next up is my 300 Weatherby! I also hunt with electronic muffs, they a VERY load!

Thanks to all. I ended up sending it down to Vias...
My trigger job was complete last night and back on the way to Texas. Should have my new setup back by early Feb, and start getting it dialed in. Should be bad news for the New Mexico Mulies in November....

Dale Wise Guns in San Antonio, did my Pro Hunter 300 Win. Mag, & 30-378. Dale built me a couple of rifles many years ago, last I heard he retired and one of the guys that worked for him bought the store and name. Is Dale Wise Custom Guns still in business? His shop was on Olmos street for a time wasn't it? Had him make and install a brake on a 30-378 WBY IMP he built of mine. It is so effective I swear the gun pulls away from my shoulder and has negative recoil but boy does it have muzzle blast.

About how much does it cost for a MB to be put on
Isn't the best way to save face to keep the lower part shut?

I have a Gentry break on my custom 7mm I am building. I put 15 rounds through it the other day and am very impressed with it. I promise it has less recoil than my Model 600 243

Dale Wise is retired, the shop is still in business on Blanco & Summit St., it is owned byhis employee Felix ,do not no his last name, most of his muzzle brake jobs are $200.00 -$225.00, $225.00 for the two he just did for me.
