Hey I'm maybe looking at getting a wooden duck call because i heard that they can produce lower quacks for finishing ducks. Is this true or does it not really matter. I'm not talking about a lohmans or anything like that I'm talking about a good wood call. Any inputs? (By the way i'm not bashing lohmans)

Try the OLT #66 single reed if you can find one.

Go check out my website. I make all wood customs and wood poly customs. Quite a few people on here can vouch for my calls and the quality of them. Randy

It is more on the caller than the call...
Acrylic, Poly or wood...just depends who is behind it...
I haven't had a wood call on my lanyard in years...
In my opinion, they seem to swell and contract and notes can very depending on weather conditions...
Don't have that problem with acrylic or poly calls...

I consider myself an "above average" caller but I was watching some show and they guide said; and I know it is just a guys opinion but he said that he thought everyone should have a wooden call on their lanyard because you can be softer with them and he said he used it more for finishing ducks, and using a poly or acrylic isnt as effective, how much truth is too that, I mean I have never had a wood call and I do fine but was wondering if there was a diff. . Hey retrievercalls can you PM me a price list those are exactly the type of calls I'm looking for, but I am a college kid.
