For us to have the population of hogs that we have, they sure stay well hid. I usually have them all hours of day and night. Ive promised several people the chance to shoot some pigs, but they have dissappeared.
It's better to be judged by 12, than to be carried by 6!!!

Happens to us this time of year, every year. They are still here at our place but ONLY nocturnal (cams have them coming at 2-3 am).
I believe it happens for two reasons at our place.
1. This is the end of hunting season, every tom, dick and harry have been taking pot shots at them for months now. 2. The acorns drop here in November so they have a good food source until February, so they need to travel very little.
The hunting always gets better at our place from February on, and peaks in Summer. Summer at my place is a guaranteed kill 24/7

you would be suprised how far some of them will travel. If they are showing up during daylight hours, it is likely they aren't all that far and in the thickest mess you can find. If they usually just show up at night, they could be a cpl miles off.

The recent rains have put them back in the wheat fields here. Went shopping this evening and there were hogs in almost every green field from 3 pm till dark.
