They rank them that high because they sell them it is not an unbiased review like www.chasingame.comPredator cams are blah at best, and look how high they rank leaf river. The leafs are decent but problematic. If they weren't selling them they wouldn't be ranking them even in the top 30.

I've used Moultries, Cuddebacks Wildview, Wild Game Innovations, Leaf Rivers and Bushnell Trophy Cam's. Out of those I have always liked the Moultries, until I bought a Bushnell Trophy Cam. The battery life, picture quality and trigger speed have been better than any of the other cameras I have ever used. I have 7 different cameras in use right now, but as they die, I will be replacing them with the Trophy Cam.

www.chasingame.com terminated there review on the 2010 Bushnell XLT because they could not get one to last a full test cycle.

To the original question, there is no such thing. It is a total crap shoot when buying cameras. There are good and bad cameras from each manufactures in the same model. You either lucky and get a good one or you are not. Money doesnt seem to matter. I have cameras ranging from the $100 Wildviews to the $350 Uways and they have all had issues. The best camera I have had is the Cuddeback Capture, but I know many people who have had the same camera and had plenty of problems with theirs. Like I said it is just a crap shoot. This is why i have yet to buy one... If you look at any camera review on BassPro or cabelas website they are all hot and cold! The only downer with not having one is i dont know what time anthing is coming in... IDK, guess i wanna watch this thread also

I guess I have a 2009 Model. I haven't once had a concern of retrieving a SD card full of no pictures. I have it set the same as all the others. I will agree that it is a crap shoot, because one of the Moultries I picked up this year, the IR-60 (or something like that), has been really good. The other 3 just like it are hit and miss with their reliability.

I've had Moultrie I-60's and I-45's for years and never had problems with them. There's pro's and con's about them when you compare to other brands, but overall, they've done a great job for me.
Bought 2 Day 6 Plot Watchers last summer and enjoy them very much, too. Downside is that they don't record at night, but they don't miss a beat during the day. Battery life isn't the greatest, but you can buy the rechargeable Double AA's to solve that problem.

2009 models are very good tho. After a lot of research,I bought a Bushnell Trophy cam in April 2010. I could not get it to stop taking pictures. Sometimes 5000 per day. That'll suck the life out of your batteries. Also had whiteout issues. Bushnell said they worked out these problems, and I recieved my replacement camera last week. I am curious to see if its any better. CD

I think the The guy that said you get good and bad in the same model and manufacturer is spot on. I had the older flash Moultrie's for several years and lost them in a fire so bought 4 of the I-45's (think that was the model) with IR flash, none of them made it through the first season. I have an 09 Bushnell that still takes great pics and has excellent battery life, not great at night but good enough, didn't buy the 2010 models because of all the terrible reviews. I now have 4 of the Primos 60's. The less expensive models all worked the same but the increased number of LED's makes a big difference at night. I also tried the Cuddyback Capture, very disappointed with it and returned it. I had it set up with a Primos 60 under it and the 60 took more photos and the Cuddyback's much ballyhooed speed gave several pics of deer butts or no picture at all to include when I watched the deer walk in front of the camera. I'm sticking with the Primos, they are simple, they work and I have them running off 6v feeder type batteries on the ground with connectors I got from Radio Shack and a harness I made. They last about 6 weeks depending on activity and air temp.

Passthru - that's a great shot from your Remington! Do you know what the megipixels are on that particular camera? 5 I believe. It was $59.99 on sale at Academy when I bought it.

Well I guess I'll be the guy that says BS. Money DOES matter and when you get your head wrapped around this, you'll buy a Reconyx and never look back. Got 6 of them now and have never, I repeat: NEVER! had a false pic, or had to replace the camera...they're flawless. The new ones are the size of the Bushnells and absolutely a work of art!! Super simple to swap cards and batteries (but you won't have to very often cause you'll get about 6 mos. and 75 to 100K pics out of 'em before they die) and a piece of cake to program. I've tried all the POS $200 cams out there and finally ponied up and I'm glad I did. They're worth every penny!!! Regards, Scott

I have had two Scoutguard 550s for two years now and have had zero issues with them. They are one of, if not THE smallest on the market. The batteries last for months. They have taken thousands of pictures and have had only about three white out pics. The flash could be a bit stronger but they have a flash extender available along with a black flash. I keep them up almost all year and love them.
