No luck in either Bass Pro or Cabela's and would not rather order online due to hazardous material fees. Anyone know any sources in the DFW area?

I've got 500 rounds of 167gr Scenar's to load for .308Win and would rather use Vihtavuori since it's from the same manufacturer as the bullet and most of the published loads are for them.

Alpine in South Ft. Worth stocks some as well. 817-478-6613

I use N-150 for my 308 loads.

That's a perfect powder for the 167's & I use it with 150s, as well in my .308. Right about the same burn rate as Varget & RL-15.

I've bought it at Alpine and from a vendor who used to go to the Dallas Market Hall gun shows. Get some Lapua brass, too! grin

You're going to like the accuracy of those 167 Scenars. I don't know if they perform well on game, but they sure do shoot straight.

Yep, mostly long range plinking will be the use. Maybe on hogs and varmints at longer ranges but certainly not for deer. It will take them down but probably with too big of an exit hole.

If I get Lapua brass, to go completely "domestic" I need to get a TRG to shoot them out with too! Not going to happen but if I can find a M695 or similar older Tikka, a custom build would get me there.

I figured I could load with RL-15 which I have but would rather go with VV powder to get it straight from the charts. Lapua's reloading guide rates the RL-15 right there with 140. Could put in Ramshot TAC and use 135 chart but that 540 would be perfect.

BTW, I have fire going on my wood heated sauna my dad built a few months back before going back to Oulu. smile

Jealous on the sauna! Haven't been since I was back to my Oulu (Wisconsin) in September! If it gets too hot throw a little water on the rocks, that'll cool 'er right down! cheers

Just got back in, might go for another round. Last night I had my wife's family in for a visit, their first time in a sauna. Turned out to be almost 2 hour bath with multiple trips to pool (which is not heated). Just let me know if you're coming this way and I'll heat it up for you! Unlike the "dry" saunas at gyms, throwing water on the rocks is mandatory, not forbidden! cheers

Down in Houston for the forseeable future, but thanks. There's nothing like being "Sauna clean".
