Yesterday was a probably one of the best mallard hunts I have ever had. Set up on a simple ugly stock tank not much bigger than a swimming pool we had group after group of birds dropping in with wreckless abandon. Right at sunrise we had a wad of 50+ birds on the deck with me standing up with no cover to be had. Didnt matter, they still came in. Not great pic but trust me it was a special morning. We were done in 31 minutes.

great hunt! but why did yall stop at hunting in 31 minutes? looks like yall could have shot a few more by my count
I have found that diversity adds balance to things. And thats why i shoot a diversity of animals. so i can bring balance to my freezer

great hunt! but why did yall stop at hunting in 31 minutes? looks like yall could have shot a few more by my count Um, how many mallards do you think you can shoot? i know how many mallards you can shoot jack wagon  . but since there is a Gadwall on the far left, he could have shot one more mallard and 3 other ducks of a different species for a complete limit of 18 birds if he wanted.

LOL... calm down big boy.  Sometimes it's hard and not worth the wait to pull in other birds into a mallard hole.  I'da called it a day too.
